Description
Installing, altering, adding, repairing, testing control systems, mechanical systems, and associated materials and equipment in a safe and orderly manner.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Working knowledge of all aspects of control installation. Must be able to perform a variety of complex technical functions related to the operation, maintenance, modification, testing of circuitry, and calibration of integrated control systems.
Reading and understanding blueprints, shop drawings, technical specifications, electrical and control schematics, and process and instrumentation drawings. Skilled at working with tools of the trade and must be able to do routine calculations.
Communication
Speak and write effectively in English. Demonstrate effective and efficient skills enabling constructive interaction with supervisors, subordinates, inspectors, customers, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
Physical Expectations
Stationary standing, lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and balancing. Ambulatory walking, climbing, crawling; reaching with hands and arms; bending arms, wrists, and fingers; pushing, pulling and lifting up to 100 pounds.
Working Conditions
This position requires exposure to natural elements and construction site hazards: Very loud noise, wet, humid conditions; work near moving machinery; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold and heat; risk of electrical shock; work in high, hazardous places, vibrations, and routine traffic hazards.
It's necessary to wear protective equipment (hard hat, safety shoes and safety glasses) when working on certain project sites. Wear protective equipment (dust mask, ear plugs, respirators) as required.
